FAQ

Your red light therapy is more expensive than other salons. Do you have the same machine?

It's unlikely you'll find another Red Light Therapy machine like ours. Why? Because ours was custom built for our salon. Unlike many competitors, our Red Light Therapy bed was designed specifically for Red Light Therapy and shipped directly from the manufacture; it's not a recycled tanning bed with "Red Light Bulbs" in it (which some Chicago salons have been shut down for).

What are the benefits for your skin?

- Red Light Therapy smooths overall skin tone
- Builds collagen, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, including crow's feet, under eye wrinkles, forehead wrinkles, and laugh lines
- Speeds the healing of blemishes, like acne and rosacea
- Helps repair sun damage
- Reduces redness, flushing, and broken capillaries
- Fades scars and stretch marks

Is Red Light Therapy safe? What does the FDA say?

According to the FDA, "Red Light" at 633nm has a "Non-Significant Risk" status and is completely safe for the eyes. Red light penetrates tissue to a depth of 8-10mm, delivering energy to stimulate a response from the body to heal itself.

How soon do results become noticeable?

There are a few immediate changes to the skin that you will notice. Changes occur naturally over a period of weeks. Everyone reacts differently, depending on their age and the condition of their skin. Generally, the best results are achieved over a 12 week period.

Does Red Light Therapy treat acne, age spots, & sun damage?

Red Light in conjunction with "Blue Light" helps remove bacteria that causes acne and generates cellular activity that helps repair age spots and sun damage.

How does Red Light Therapy differ from laser treatments?

Red Light Therapy does not cut, burn, or break the skin as with laser treatments. Lasers use heat and concentrated light to vaporize or remove skin tissue. Red Light Therapy produces no vaporization or burning of the tissue therefore, no inflammation or erythema.

How long do the results last?

This depends entirely on the length of treatment and original skin conditions. Skin rejuvenation is a dynamic process. If maintenance treatments are discontinued, a gradual loss of results will occur over time as with normal skin aging.

What are the benefits of Red Light Therapy overall?

- 100% natural
- Drug free
- Chemical free
- Non-invasive (no needles)
- Non-ablative (does not damage the skin)
- Painless
- Safe for all skin types
- Safe for ALL ages
- No adverse short or long term side effects
- FDA approved

How many times do I have to do the treatment?

We recommend coming 3 times a week for 90 days consecutively.

How does Red Light Therapy work?

Laboratory studies have shown that skin cells grow 150-200% faster when exposed to certain wavelengths and research has shown Rel Light delivers powerful therapeutic benefits to living tissue. Red Light, at 633nm (nano-meters) is absorbed by the mitochondria of the cell and stimulates intracellular energy transfer (ATP) production for enhanced cell vitality and permeability, increased production of new collagen and increased turnover of collagen and elastin fibers.

What can I expect from Red Light Therapy treatments?

The initial effect is clearer, brighter, and tighter feeling skin. The long-term effect is improved skin clarity, tone, and texture. Fine lines and wrinkles, dark circles, as well as puffiness around the eyes are reduced, while the effects of environmental damage and chronological aging are minimized.
Over time, Red Light Therapy will help restore tired looking skin, diminish freckles, age spots, and acne, even out pigmentation, minimize the size of facial pores, improve the appearance of weathered skin, and stimulate collagen synthesis, improving the skins supportive structure.

What if I travel a lot or can't make it in 3 times a week?
